Palo Alto Networks to Buy Embrace for Real User Monitoring
Palo Alto Networks will acquire Embrace to add Real User Monitoring to its Observability platform; terms were not disclosed and the deal is expected to close in Q1 of fiscal 2027.
Palo Alto Networks announced it will acquire Embrace, a provider of user-focused observability, to add Real User Monitoring (RUM) capabilities to its Observability platform. Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of Palo Alto Networks’ fiscal 2027 and is subject to customary closing conditions.
Embrace’s RUM is designed for cloud-native environments and captures actual end-user interactions with mobile and web applications. At the same time, Palo Alto Networks introduced Synthetics, a tool built by its Autonomous Digital Experience Management team that runs proactive tests from locations around the world to validate application availability before users encounter problems. Together the technologies extend the Observability platform into Digital Experience Monitoring by covering frontend user behavior, synthetic validation and backend telemetry.
The company described the integrated view as allowing customers to trace a user action from the client click through backend services. Palo Alto Networks plans to connect the new capabilities to Cortex AgentiX automation to accelerate detection and response workflows and to enable automatic remediation of identified issues.
Lee Klarich, chief product and technology officer at Palo Alto Networks, said, “To truly understand how their applications are performing, organizations need to see the whole picture — from the moment a user taps or clicks to what exactly happens on the backend.” He added that linking the capabilities with Cortex AgentiX would allow organizations to detect and automatically remediate issues.
The acquisition follows Palo Alto Networks’ January 2026 purchase of Chronosphere for $3.35 billion. The company reported that its observability business has surpassed $300 million in annual recurring revenue.
Palo Alto Networks stated the Embrace purchase and the launch of Synthetics are intended to give customers a single platform to monitor user experience, run synthetic checks and manage backend performance.
