Mate Security Raises $35M to Expand Agentic SOC
Mate Security raised $35 million in a Series A led by Canaan Partners to grow its AI-powered agentic SOC platform and expand customer support, sales and R&D.
Mate Security raised $35 million in a Series A round led by Canaan Partners, bringing the company’s total funding to more than $50 million. Insight Partners, Microsoft’s venture fund M12 and Team8 also participated. The Tel Aviv-based startup announced the round eight months after emerging from stealth.
Founded in 2025 by former employees of Wiz and Microsoft, Mate builds an agentic security operations center platform that uses AI to automate detection, investigation and response. The platform creates a security context graph for each customer by mapping assets, business processes, users and data.
Those context graphs feed automated agents that create detections, triage alerts, perform threat hunting and carry out incident response using the customer’s specific context. Mate describes the approach as Continuous Detection, Continuous Response; the platform retains knowledge from each investigation to refine later detections.
Mate plans to use the funding to expand customer support, sales and research and development teams, increase market presence and double headcount by the end of the year.
According to Asaf Wiener, Mate’s co-founder and CEO, ‘We invested in the foundation: context and trust, and built them into our product.’ Wiener described a continued focus on customers as the company expands into new markets.
