HiddenLayer Raises $100M to Secure AI Coding Agents

HiddenLayer raised $100 million in a Series B, bringing total funding to over $155 million. The Austin company will expand runtime security and monitoring for AI coding agents.

HiddenLayer, an Austin-based AI security company, announced on Wednesday that it raised $100 million in a Series B round, bringing total funding to more than $155 million.

The round was led by Delta-v Capital and included participation from Booz Allen Ventures, Microsoft’s venture fund M12, Morgan Stanley and Ten Eleven Ventures. HiddenLayer plans to use the funding to expand its platform and hire staff to build runtime security features for AI coding agents.

Founded in 2022, HiddenLayer provides tools to secure agentic, generative and predictive AI applications across their lifecycle. Its enterprise platform offers discovery of AI-driven components, AI supply chain security, attack simulation and runtime protection for AI agents. The company positions these tools to help organizations meet compliance requirements and protect intellectual property.

Planned platform additions aim to give enterprises visibility and control over how AI agents act in production. Features described by the company include detection and interruption of anomalous behavior such as manipulation, misuse or unauthorized actions.

HiddenLayer is focusing on autonomous agents that can write, review and ship code with reduced human oversight. The company wrote that continuous testing and monitoring at runtime are needed to maintain trust in those systems.

Chris Sestito, co-founder and chief executive, wrote that HiddenLayer started work on trusted, secure AI for enterprises early and that the funding will support growth of the team and product as agentic AI is adopted in business operations.

HiddenLayer did not disclose customer counts or revenue figures as part of the announcement.

Industry interest in agentic AI has increased use of AI for tasks such as automated code generation and deployment, creating demand for tools that monitor agents after they move into production.
