Cantina Raises $8M to Advance Autonomous Security
Cantina exited stealth with $8 million led by Framework Ventures to develop an autonomous, community-powered platform for identifying, prioritizing and remediating security vulnerabilities.
Cantina, a New York cybersecurity startup, emerged from stealth after raising $8 million in a funding round led by Framework Ventures. The financing brings the company’s total raised to $16.5 million.
The company developed a platform that uses autonomous agents to find, prioritize and remediate security vulnerabilities. Customers can run built-in agents, create custom agents, or use agents shared by other customers to automate checks across servers, code repositories, databases and identity systems.
The platform builds and maintains a dynamic digital twin of an organization’s environment, updating as systems change. It applies business context to mapped assets, ranks issues by risk, automates investigation steps, carries out remediation actions and verifies that fixes are in place.
Cantina reports the system learns from each completed investigation, which the company says improves alert precision and reduces false positives.
The startup plans to use the new funding to expand its product and grow its community of agents and customers. Framework Ventures led the round; the company did not disclose other participants.
Hari Mulackal, co-founder and CEO, warned: “Attackers can identify vulnerabilities, understand systems, and build exploits faster than ever before.” Mulackal added that defenders need AI that can investigate issues, coordinate remediation, verify fixes and improve with each resolution.
